From December 2011 to March 2012 I worked as a North Pacific groundfish observer out of Dutch Harbor and Kodiak Island, Alaska. My primary responsibility was data collection from harvest taken by different commercial fisheries. In addition to data collection I was responsible for monitoring policy adherance and reporting any violations. I was required to follow national protocols as well as keep within the rules of the boats and my contractor. I worked in extreme conditions and finished with an exemplery evaluation.
